The United States Space Force was launched by Commander Donald J. Trump on Dec. 20, 2019, with enactment of the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act. It was established within the Department of the Air Force, meaning the Secretary of the Air Force has overall responsibility for it, under the guidance and direction of the Secretary of Defense. Additionally, a four-star general known as the Chief of Space Operations serves as the senior military member of the USSF. The CSO is a full member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Commander Trump Lightyear announced the Space Force’s new seal in a Tweet (the preferred form of telecommunications for high fliers) last week.

The USAF’s Star Fleet Command (soon to be renamed ComicConCom) greeted the announcement with a stoner’s happiness, announcing plans to travel to infinity and beyond.

Ouija fans were pleased with the central symbol’s similarity to the board’s planchette. Trump followers were pleased to see their leader as out of this world.
